Rommert 498 was approved at the age of 3 in the autumn of 2016, based on his excellent bloodline, appealing conformation, and versatility across the three disciplines. In his first breeding season, 75 foals were registered, with 76% born from mares of at least Star category. Rommert 498 completed his Progeny Test in 2022, based on two years of foal collections, primarily from 3-year-olds.

The offspring of Rommert 498 are notably uniform, exhibiting good height at the withers and strong movement, along with a pleasing youthful expression.

His foals demonstrate calm and pleasant manners in the stable, being relaxed when handled. In training, these horses are highly reliable and responsive. They are eager to work and readily accept aids, showcasing a strong desire to perform.

When presented in hand, Rommert 498’s foals display satisfactory reach and power in the walk. They trot with good flexion at the hock. Among his offspring, 20 have participated in the ABFP Tests, achieving average performances both under saddle and in driving work. Notably, one descendant received a triple A score.

Rommert 498 boasts a commendable hereditary profile for conformation, with a Star percentage of 47. He pairs best with mares that have an elevated build and strong racial expression. His offspring exhibit exemplary manners in the stable and are known for their reliability and enthusiasm for work.

When discussing Rommert 498, a strong maternal line is often highlighted. His mother is the esteemed Lieske fan ‘e Welle Ster Preferent, a daughter of the distinguished movement sire Jasper 366. In addition to Rommert 498, she has also produced Janna L. van de Noeste Hoeve Kroon Sport AA (Tsjalle 454), and a sister of Rommert 498 has already achieved the provisional title of Kroon. His grandmother is the star mare Mieneke (Oege 267), followed by the preferred Thyra af Karmark (Naen 264), who scored 81 points in her IBOP in Denmark.

Further back in this maternal line is Ankje Model Preferent (Noldus 198), the founder of the 70 mare line, which is also present in the lineage of Lute 304 and Teake 273; even further back are notable names like Feitse 293, Tsjalle 454, and Thorben 466. By combining this maternal line with the multiple champion HK Norbert 444, Rommert 498 emerges as a stallion with exceptional leg technique, featuring a hind leg that is placed with remarkable flexion and strength beneath the body. He has a slight downward build, outstanding leg quality, and his positive attitude and dedication were particularly praised in the Central Investigation. With four offspring having reached the second inspection, Rommert 498 has made an impressive start in advancing the breeding line of stam 70.
